from PSA Media

October 1, 2015 - Egypt’s Raneem El Welily has maintained her place as the world’s No.1 female squash player for the second consecutive month - extending her advantage over former incumbent Nicol David after cruising to victory during the 2015 Stars On The Bund China Open earlier this month.

El Welily is one of five Egyptians inside the top ten with every position from No.6 to No.9 being occupied by her compatriots, with 2015 World Junior Champion Nouran Gohar becoming the latest star to join the Egyptian ranks in the top ten. Gohar has risen by four places to occupy the No.9 ranking courtesy of back-to-back runner-up finishes at the China Open and Macau Open tournaments.

Laura Massaro, who beat Gohar in the Macau Open final, has risen two places to return to World No.3 while NetSuite Open winner Amanda Sobhy is the biggest mover inside the top twenty, rising eight places to occupy the No.11 position.
