Job Opening: Head Squash Pro, New York Athletic Club

The prestigious New York Athletic Club, one of the world's premier private clubs, founded in 1868 and located on Central Park South in Manhattan is seeking a regular full-time Head squash Pro. The Head Squash Pro will oversee the Squash Program and implement policies and procedures as agreed to by the Squash Committee and approved by the Athletic Director.

To promote the game of squash to the Club membership by providing squash programming for all levels, ages, and abilities, running tournaments, coaching teams, teaching lessons and clinics and ensuring a balance of competitive and social interaction opportunities.

   
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the NYAC Squash program.
Provide quality programs as required and to teach or have qualified staff teach these programs as agreed upon with Director of Athletics
Coordinate and administer league play, ladders, round robins, club championships and tournaments.
Work with the Director of Athletics in carrying out the administrative functions of the department
Assist with the promotion of all programs and activities.
Responsible for training, supervision and performance of other staff relating to the Squash program, including professional, administrative and staff adherence to Club Policies.
Work with the Athletics Director to identify budget requirements and to be accountable for the management of the departmental expenses.
Attend meetings initiated by the Squash Committee.  Giving guidance, support and direction to the committee and be responsible to carried out mutually agreed upon procedures.
Assist the Squash Committee in planning social events.  To attend and assist with social functions as required.
Work with the Squash Committee to update Rules and Procedures.  To ensure Club rules pertaining to dress, eye protection, court usage, etc. are enforced.
Foster and maintain good relations between staff and members, as well as with other staff departments.
Prepare, where required, all necessary reports, submissions and other administrative items as requested by management or the Squash Committee.
Work with the Club’s Athletic Department to ensure the squash courts and facilities are in good condition.
Monitor Club communication deadlines and articles from Committee Representative and to generate appropriate contributions ensuring promotion of the program.
Responsible for the development of the facilities, program and events schedule, in cooperation with the Squash Committee and Director of Athletics.
Maintain a high level of communications with other clubs and the sport governing bodies.
To ensure the production of accurate up to date program rosters prior to the start of the season.
To ensure that all trophies for events are ordered, engraved and maintained as well as updating
any recognition boards.
To provide a written weekly and annual report to the Director of Athletics on all activities of the Squash Section.
To work with the Director of to ensure safe facilities and a safe environment.

Excellent communications, public relations, and organizational skills.
Pleasant personality and cooperative nature.
Enthusiasm
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Excellent oral and written English
Excellent computer skills
