Matthew To Top Draw At 2015 Canary Wharf Classic
by Nathan Clarke

February 10, 2015 - Three-time World Champion Nick Matthew will top the draw when the 2015 Canary Wharf Classic, PSA International 50 tournament, gets underway in the heart of London's financial district on Monday March 23.

The 34-year-old recently added a 31st PSA World Tour title to his collection with a dominating win over French World No.2 Gregory Gaultier in the final of the CASE Swedish Open and he'll be aiming to carry that vein of form into the East Wintergarden as he aims to retain the title he won in commanding fashion in 2014 and claim his fifth Canary Wharf Classic crown in the process.

Matthew got the better of compatriot James Willstrop in that final, the man he also beat to Commonwealth Games Gold in Glasgow four months later, and he could line up against his long-time adversary in the final once again in 2015 although Pontefract-based Willstrop faces a tough challenge as the tournament's number five seed, having fallen down the PSA Rankings due to a five-month injury-enforced absence.

Essex duo Peter Barker, the number two seed, and Daryl Selby, the number six seed, will be hoping they can halt the Matthew-Willstrop domination in London, while Spaniard Borja Golan, the World No.9, and German Simon Rösner, the World No.10, will both be aiming to become just the third overseas player ever to win the title.
