Reda Shakes Off Mangaonkar In Mumbai
by Howard Harding

10 May 2013 - Mohd Ali Anwar Reda claimed his anticipated place in the semi-finals of the CCI PSA Squash Challenger 15 in Mumbai - but the No2 seed from Egypt had to fight back from two games down and then survive two tie-break games before overcoming local hope Mahesh Mangaonkar in the quarter-finals of the inaugural PSA World Tour Challenger 15 event at the Cricket Club of India.

It was an impressive performance by the 19-year-old from Mumbai who is ranked outside the world top 100. But after 115 minutes, it was Reda - the world No43 - who prevailed 14-16, 6-11, 16-14, 12-10, 11-8 to earn a place in the last four.

The 24-year-old from Cairo will now face fellow countryman Omar Abdel Meguid, the No3 seed from Giza who beat Malaysian Ivan Yuen 13-11, 8-11, 11-8, 14-12.

Top seed Alan Clyne came through an all-Scottish clash with Greg Lobban 15-13, 11-5, 11-6 to set up a semi meeting with fourth seed Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry.

The 19-year-old from Cairo defeated Malaysian Elvinn Keo 11-5, 11-6, 12-10 and will have his eye on an all-Egyptian final.
