Royal Army Squash Team Pulls Even with NY Team
by Andy Garr

September 10, 2015. Last night a determined team of British Soldiers won 4 of the last 5 matches and surged to a 9-5 victory over a largely Princeton Club team. This knotted the score for the challenge to 2.5 –2.5. Most of the matches, played before a record crowd, were close and spirited. Absent was any kind of controversy. The apparent reason was the controversial New York administrator slept through most of the evening and when offered a beer, declined and asked for some warm milk.

Tonight’s action moves to the Appawamus Club in Rye, New York where Peter Brigg’s promises to put together a strong team in an attempt to break the tie which even if the Brits win the finale on Saturday will insure that the War of 1812 Redux Trophy will remain in New York.
